Henry Fukuhara
HENRY FUKUHARA Born 1913, Los Angeles, California and died in 2010. Since his solo exhibition at the Los Angeles County Museum in 1935, Henry has been a busy east coast and west coast artist. He lived in Long Island, New York for 42 years before returning to his roots in Santa Monica, California. Henry has exhibited in New York, California and Tokyo, Japan several times. He is well known for his energetic abstract watercolors as well as a highly regarded watercolor workshop teacher. His work is included in many permanent collections, including the L.A. county Museum, The Vincent Price Collection and the city of Hiroshima. In recent years many articles have appeared in national art magazines recognizing his work, Watercolor Magic, American Artist, Artist's Magazine to name a few. In 2004, Henry received well deserved Life Time Achievement Awards with the National Watercolor Society and Watercolor West. The Henry Fukuhara Manzanar workshop continues each year. Henry Fukuhara
